Windows Server 2025: The Backup Process

1. In Server Manager, click Tools (top right) and select Windows Server Backup.
2. In the right-hand Actions pane, click Backup Once... (or Backup Schedule if setting up a daily routine).
3. On the Backup Options page, select Different options and click Next.
4. Select Custom (to choose specific files/folders instead of the bare-metal OS), then click Next.
5. Click Add Items. Browse and check the boxes for the file directories you want to back up, then click OK -> Next.
6. On the Specify Destination Type page, choose Remote shared folder and click Next.
7. In the Location box, enter your exact path:

\\COLAB-NAS\NAS_Share

1. Click Next. If prompted for network credentials, provide the user account that has write access to the NAS.
2. Click Backup to run the job.
